What is OnCallData?
OnCallData is an innovative electronic-prescribing service enabling physicians to send prescriptions (including controlled substances) and refills to pharmacies in seconds. OnCallData eliminates time-consuming phone calls and faxes between physicians and pharmacies, while improving patient safety, compliance, and practice efficiency.
How easy is it to use OnCallData?
The OnCallData service is extremely intuitive and user-friendly. The service is available on any web-capable device, including smartphones, tablets , and PCs. You could be sending prescriptions within an hour of signing up!
How do you access OnCallData?
Simply access the OnCallData® website, www.oncalldata.com, and login, from any Internet-connected device.
Is there more work for my staff?
No. Current users are saving upwards of 10 minutes per prescription, and some offices are saving 2-6 hours per day!
Are there any restrictions to using OnCallData®?
You may use OnCallData® to send prescriptions to ANY pharmacy, with ANY Internet-connected device, at ANYTIME from ANYWHERE.
Can my nurse or assistant use the service on my behalf?
With your permission, yes. They will have their individual usernames and passwords. Each staff member can also be assigned one of many security levels (read-only, queue for approval, administrative-only, or full privileges).
How secure is the service in terms of patient-data privacy?
All data is 256-bit SSL encrypted. OnCallData also ensures that it users state-of-the-art security.
How is the prescription transmitted to the pharmacy?
Prescriptions are transmitted to the selected pharmacy (OnCallData® has over 72,000 pharmacies in its database) electronically or via fax (if the pharmacy is unreachable electronically). Physicians and their staff no longer have to be on the phone with the pharmacy or use their office fax machines, since OnCallData® handles and tracks each prescription for you.
How are prescription renewals handled?
Prescription renewals requested by the patient of the pharmacy or by the pharmacy are sent to the practice electronically via OnCallData. OnCallData provides a flashing tab indicating that renewals are awaiting approval.
Does OnCallData provide patient medication history?
OnCallData will retrieve patient’s two-year history from payers and pharmacies – this includes prescriptions written outside of your practice, enabling your practice to have an up-to-date record of a patient’s medication list and maintain an accurate list of patient’s active medications.
Does OnCallData do a comprehensive DUR (drug utilization review)?
OnCallData checks for drug-drug, drug-allergy, drug-food interactions against the patient’s active medication list; in addition, OnCallData will check for dosing ranges, and duplicate therapies.
